Giuliani: Scandal Machine 29 Nov 2007Posted by Jessa in Politics.

Is there ever going to be a time in the campaign when Rudy Giuliani isn’t embroiled in some sort of scandal. Now it’s because he was using city funds to finance his affair with Judith Nathan.
His response is, predictably, indignation. After last night’s debate, he told CNN that the story was a “hit job” conveniently timed to break just hours before the debate was scheduled to occur:
I would not accuse any of my opponents of doing it. But who knows, it could be on the Democratic side.
Yeah, it’s a Vast Unknown-Wing Conspiracy.
And when he did try to defend himself, his arguments were that a) he was under 24-hour security, so his detail had to go with him everywhere (thus the expense), and b) this all happened five years ago.
Frankly, I couldn’t care less about his dalliances with his mistress. But if I was a New Yorker, I’d be pissed to find out that my tax money was funding it. And by the way, “values” voters don’t seem to be the type to allow a statute of limitations on immoral behavior. Just ask Bill Clinton.
